Title and description are an important part of any SEO strategy so that it is very important to write an attractive title and description for Search engines. You have to write SEO friendly eye-catching clickable title and description
What is Title Tag & Meta Description in SEO?
Title tag in SEO: If you want to rank in search engines then you have to add searchable keywords in the title.
Title example: if you search in google ” Social Bookmarking list”. Then this keyword will appear in google top pages and that’s a big reason you have to optimized page titles for SEO. Check images.
Title character Limit: Always right shorter title tag for SERP. If you have short Title then people can easily understand what is your page all about and keyword rich titles search engines crawl very fast.
Title character Limit is 60 Characters
Google read title up to 60 characters, if you write more then 60 characters then Google will cut off your title and search engines will show up to 60 characters only.
Meta Description in SEO: Meta description provides more information about your website and Pages. In Description also you have to add google searchable keywords related to your content or topics.
Description Example:
Description character limit is 160 Character
Google read description up to 160 characters, if you write more then 160 characters then Google will cut off your description and search engines will show up to 160 characters only.
Both Title and Description is important for SEO because search engines pick keywords from title and description only. If you are not writing an attractive title and description and not adding keywords then google will not show website pages in search engines.
Why title and description are important in SEO?
- When you share your website pages URL in social media that time title and description will be visible in Social Media, For example, Facebook: I have shared my website Url in Facebook Page you can see both title and description is visible here. So that it is very important to write good title tags to attract visitors then only you will get clicks
- For website Ranking, keyword rich title and description is must.
How search engine picks keywords from title and description
When you search any keywords in Google for example ” Social Bookmarking list” Search engine pick the keywords from title and description. Check Below images how google picks keywords.
How to write & how to use keywords in Title and Description
Always use focus keywords in Starting of your title tags and Description. Also, use Same keywords in Url of your pages. Title tag, Description and Url keywords should be related to your content.
If you write the title with full of keywords and using the same keywords again and again then this is not good for SEO.
For Ex: Best mobile, Best Mobile, Cheap mobile, best mobile for sale.
There is no penalty for using same keywords but google algorithms understand if you do keywords stuffing and the search engine will not rank this types of a keyword in google.
